Treasure Island (1883)
Robert Louis  Stevenson (British novelist) (Author)
Jim Hawkins, the young boy who narrates this classic adventure of pirates and buried treasure, obtains by accident a treasure map. In the voyage that follows to recover the treasure, disguised buccaneers, led by one-legged Long John Silver, mutiny and battle a small band for control of the island and possession of the treasure. This novel set the standard for pirate adventure, and its depiction is more romance than realistic.
