Patrick Kenzie and Angela Gennaro, partners in a Boston P.I. firm, are hired by some politicians to find a missing cleaning woman who may have taken some important documents. What the documents are, they are not told. They soon find the woman and discern that she has no documents, but does have some incriminating photos involving one of the pols and her husband, a street gang leader. Her son is the leader of a rival street gang. Then the woman is killed and Angela and Patrick must move quickly before they too are shot down, either by the politicians or the gangs. First novel.
