The Truth (2000) Terry Pratchett (Author)
The 25th novel in Terry Pratchett's Discworld series tackles themes relating to freedom of the press and politics. A forbidden printing press arrives in the city of Ankh-Morpork; and opportunistic William de Worde sets out to publish a newspaper, which makes him an outlaw in the eyes of the powerful Lord Vetinari. As his newspaper becomes more popular, William discovers a plot, headed up by a devious pair named Mr. Pin and Mr. Tulip, to remove Lord Vetinari from power. Meanwhile, a rival publication appears that specializes in tabloid-style journalism and untruths.
