Oliver Finds His Way (2002) Phyllis Root (Author) Christopher Denise (Illustrator)
As Mama hangs out the wash and Papa rakes the yard Oliver chases a leaf so far that when he stops he realizes he's lost at the edge of the woods. At first Oliver cries when he can't figure out the way home, but then he has a better idea and he begins to roar. Louder and louder he roars until he hears a roar in the distance and then another. Mama and Papa are answering him so that Oliver can follow the sound right back to his own yard and hugs from Mama and Papa. (40 pages)
