Johnny and the Dead is the second book in the humorous Johnny Maxwell series by Terry Pratchett. In this novel, Johnny is back with his friends Wobbler, Bigmac, and Yo-less in the sleepy town of Blackbury, England. Johnny visits the cemetery one day only to realize that he can see and communicate with the ghosts of the people buried there; they implore him to help them because a large corporation is about to come into town and bulldoze the cemetery. Determined to help the spirits in the cemetery, Johnny and his friends begin a campaign to prevent the big business from taking over the town.
