Johnny and the Bomb (2007)
Terry Pratchett (Author)
Mrs. Tachyon is a familiar character on the streets of Johnny Maxwell's English town. She spends her days pushing a noisy shopping cart that holds her possessions and her cat, Guilty. But on a fateful day in 1996, 12-year-old Johnny and his pals Bigmac, Yo-less, Wobbler, and Kirsty cross paths with the unusual woman. Assisting Mrs. Tachyon after a mishap, Johnny inadvertently comes into contact with the bags in her cart, and all are carried back in time to May 21, 1941. They have arrived in the middle of World War II on the very day German planes will bombard their town. An amazing opportunity presents itself. Johnny and his friends can try to change the events about to unfold to save the lives that were lost. But time travel is complicated, and they realize that their actions may have serious consequences in the future--including their own present. Johnny and the Bomb is an explosive conclusion to Terry Pratchett's Johnny Maxell Trilogy.
