Award Winner
The Last Child by John Hart is the story of a young boy's search for his missing sister. A year ago, 13-year-old Johnny Merrimon's twin, Alyssa, disappeared. Although the local police force investigated thoroughly, they never found any leads. Johnny loves his sister and continues to believe that she is alive and nearby. Despite his young age, he takes it upon himself to continue the investigation. Watching him from afar is Detective Clyde Hunt, a friend of the family and the detective assigned to the case. Clyde tries to help Johnny as much as possible and keep him from real harm, but deep down, Clyde knows that Johnny's efforts are futile--that is, until a second child goes missing. This latest development causes Johnny and Clyde to increase their efforts to get to the bottom of the case, while discovering some dark secrets along the way.
