(a telephone engineer) and Dorothy (Strahorn) Campbell; married Donna Stuart, 1931 (divorced, 1950); married Margaret Winter (a consultant on crewel embroideries), June 15, 1950; children: four. Education: Attended Massachusetts Institute of Technology, 1928-31; Duke University, B.Sc., 1933. Politics: "May the best man win." Religion: Unitarian Universalist. Hobbies and other interests: Photography, electronics, working in wood and metal, experiments in extrasensory perception.
